Who uses the Internet?
We've known for a while that the 'Silver Surfers' are the fastest growing Internet user group but, according to Hitwise, by the end of this year they will be the largest Internet user group in the UK .Silver surfers, or those people over 55, already make up a larger market share than their grandchildren, but the widespread availabililty of broadband has encouraged many more over 55s to log on.
And their most commonly used pages? Search engines, shopping and pornography, along with travel, news, investments and yachting. (It still doesn't mean my mother can log on!!).
