Globalteer
We recently commented in our blog that we had been working with an organisation called Globalteer in order to give them some advice on their pay per click campaigns.Globalteer is a UK registered non profit charity that serves to help those in need. They place volunteers overseas to work with projects that desparately need help.
Here is a message from Jim at Globalteer from Cambodia.

Hi Rob,
It took a while but your original photos were lost in Cambodia, I am now here and have found some water filters that we built in your name.

The photo attached is at a new orphanage 10kms outside of the town of Siem Reap. We have 2 Search path water filters there to ensure the 30 orphans and families from the local community have clean drinking water. This is the first thing we do when we discover a new orphanage as clean water is so important and the filters basically save lives.
We have since supplied them with mosquito nets, cooking materials, sleeping mats, battery and lighting (no electricity there).
We now have 3 volunteers there and have started an educational program for the kids. We will send in our medical staff soon and buy them soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels etc and train them for the first time in their lives how to brush their teeth (always fun!). We then send in the nutritionist who ensures the kids have their basics nutritional needs, enough vegetables and fruit etc. Only then do we start to look at construction, what tends to happen is that we have many more kids from the surrounding community wanting education at the orphanage (also food and toothpaste!) so we wait to build the classrooms until word gets around that there is decent education, food, clean water and supplies available for all in the local community.
Lots of work but an amazing difference from start to finish.
Thanks again
Jim
