Yahoo to use High Street data to target online shoppers

Yahoo has recently announced an agreement with Nectar, the loyalty card scheme, that will enable advertisers using Yahoo, to target online shoppers based on what they buy on the High Street.

Under the agreement Nectar will supply data on a shopper's historical purchases to Yahoo. This data will then be matched to their Yahoo login, enabling advertisers to taregt their ads appropriately.

Around 2,000 people have signed up already and Cadbury is among the brands to have signed up to use the service.
